Celebrity Divorce: What 2012's Divorc?s Have Been Doing Post-Split

This year has been a big one in the world of celebrity splits, with many of our favorite couples calling it quits.

Their marriages may have failed, but these celebrities have found success in other arenas -- some through exciting career prospects and others in hot new romances. Click through the slides below to see what these seven stars have been up to since their divorces this year.

• Katie Holmes

In <a href="http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20645375,00.html">November</a>, Holmes began her <a href="http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/27230267/ns/today-entertainment/t/katie-holmes-makes-broadway-debut/#.UMe1tpPjlTE">second stint</a> on Broadway in Theresa Rebeck's comedy "Dead Accounts," in which she plays a woman who <a href="http://theater.nytimes.com/2012/11/11/theater/katie-holmes-and-norbert-leo-butz-in-dead-accounts.html?_r=0&adxnnl=1&pagewanted=all&adxnnlx=1355265602-+ewhOzU1UWXCtweNoYgkuA">moves back in with her parents</a> after a breakup. Although the play opened to <a href="http://theater.nytimes.com/2012/11/30/theater/reviews/dead-accounts-with-katie-holmes-at-music-box-theater.html">less-than-stellar reviews</a>, the New York Times theater critic noted that the actress was <a href="http://theater.nytimes.com/2012/11/30/theater/reviews/dead-accounts-with-katie-holmes-at-music-box-theater.html">"much more at ease playing a worn-down country mouse"</a> than she was in Arthur Miller's "All My Sons" -- her Broadway debut -- back in 2008.

• Heidi Klum

  Heidi Klum <a href="http://www.tmz.com/2012/04/06/heidi-klum-seal-divorce/">filed for divorce</a> from Seal -- her <a href="http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20585077,00.html">husband of seven years</a> -- in April 2012. In August, the "Project Runway" judge and <a href="http://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/heidi-klum-takes-kids-to-disneyland-with-boyfriend-martin-kirsten-20121110">mother of four</a> launched her <a href="http://www.justjared.com/2012/08/15/heidi-klum-launches-truly-scrumptious-for-babies-r-us/">Truly Scrumptious</a> kids clothing line at Babies "R" Us in New York City. One month later, the collection for style-savvy tots became <a href="http://news.instyle.com/2012/09/15/heidi-klum-truly-scrumptious-out-today/">available across the country.</a> Since the split, Klum has been <a href="http://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/heidi-klum-yes-im-dating-my-bodyguard-martin-kristen-2012139">dating her bodyguard,</a> Martin Kirsten -- a relationship that she <a href="http://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/heidi-klum-yes-im-dating-my-bodyguard-martin-kristen-2012139">confirmed back in September</a>. In a recent interview with German magazine Bunte, the model gushed that she is <a href="http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20646205,00.html">"in love"</a> with her new beau.

• Russell Crowe

  Russell Crowe and Australian singer Danielle Spencer <a href="http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/10/14/russell-crowe-danielle-spencer-separate-after-nine-years_n_1965002.html?utm_hp_ref=celebrity">called it quits in October</a> after nine years of marriage. Since the split, Crowe has been keeping busy with work. The actor is starring in the screen adaptation of the<a href="http://www.eonline.com/news/368875/les-mis-rables-world-premiere-russell-crowe-anne-hathaway-hugh-jackman-and-amanda-seyfried-look-lovely-in-london"> musical "Les Miserables"</a> alongside Hugh Jackman and Anne Hathaway that premieres on <a href="http://www.eonline.com/news/368875/les-mis-rables-world-premiere-russell-crowe-anne-hathaway-hugh-jackman-and-amanda-seyfried-look-lovely-in-london">Christmas Day</a>. He also began filming on a <a href="http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20641899,00.html">Noah's Ark movie</a> entitled "Noah," in which he plays the <a href="http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20641899,00.html">well-known biblical figure</a>.

• Chad Johnson

  It's been a rough year for Chad Johnson. The football player <a href="http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/07/05/chad-ochocinco-widow-wedding-twitter_n_1651475.html">tied the knot</a> with "Basketball Wives" star Evelyn Lozada in July, but it was all downhill from there. Forty-one days later, Lozada <a href="http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20621087,00.html">filed for divorce</a> after an argument between the couple <a href="http://hollywoodlife.com/2012/08/12/evelyn-lozada-chad-johnson-domestic-violence-basketball-wives/">turned violent</a>. Johnson reportedly <a href="http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1294212-chad-johnson-arrested-on-domestic-violence-charges">headbutted his then-wife</a> and was <a href="http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1294212-chad-johnson-arrested-on-domestic-violence-charges">arrested</a> following the domestic dispute. Soon after, the <a href="http://aol.sportingnews.com/nfl/story/2012-08-15/chad-johnson-cut-hard-knocks-video-miami-dolphins-coach-joe-philbin-awkward">Miami Dolphins terminated </a>the former NFL wide receiver's contract. In December, the athlete <a href="http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/ochocinco-no-more-chad-johnson-changes-name-back-182832401--nfl.html">formerly known as "Ochocinco"</a> told ESPN that he is <a href="http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000106179/article/chad-johnson-vows-hes-going-to-play-again-in-nfl">"going to play again." </a>

• Amy Poehler

  In September, Amy Poehler and Will Arnett <a href="http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/09/06/amy-poehler-will-arnett-split-separate-break-up_n_1862968.html?1346972962">announced their separation</a> after nine years of marriage. A month later, the "Parks and Recreation" actress was tapped to <a href="http://insidetv.ew.com/2012/10/15/tina-fey-amy-poehler-golden-globes/">host the 2013 Golden Globes </a>along with fellow "SNL" alum Tina Fey. In a statement, the <a href="http://insidetv.ew.com/2012/10/15/tina-fey-amy-poehler-golden-globes/">award show's executive producers</a> said of this year's emcees: ?It?s exciting to have two of the most respected names in comedy. Amy and Tina?s well-known chemistry along with their spontaneity and glamour makes them a perfect fit for the Golden Globes.?

• Peter Facinelli

  Peter Facinelli<a href="http://www.tmz.com/2012/03/28/peter-facinelli-divorce-jennie-garth/"> filed for divorce</a> from wife Jennie Garth in March 2012 after 11 years of marriage and <a href="http://www.justjared.com/2011/12/17/jennie-garth-peter-facinelli-disneyland-family/">three children together</a>. In the fall, the actor was <a href="http://www.okmagazine.com/blogs/red-carpet-confidential-peter-facinelli-kellan-lutz-reflect-twilight-rob-kristen">busy doing a press circuit</a> to promote the final installment of the "Twilight" movies, in which he plays <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0004906/">Dr. Carlisle Cullen</a>. Late in November, Facinelli's post-split love life heated up when actress Jaimie Alexander <a href="http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20652384,00.html">confirmed to People magazine</a> that the pair were dating. "We've been friends forever and had a lot of mutual friends and we reconnected in the middle of the year," <a href="http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20652384,00.html">Alexander said</a>. "It was one of those things where I'd been single for a very long time and he was going through a lot. We sort of bonded."

• Katy Perry

  Katy Perry and ex-hubby Russell Brand officially split on <a href="http://www.tmz.com/2011/12/30/katy-perry-divorce-russell-brand/">Dec. 30, 2011</a> when the British funnyman <a href="http://www.tmz.com/2011/12/30/katy-perry-divorce-russell-brand/">filed for divorce</a>; their split was <a href="http://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/katy-perry-russell-brands-divorce-finalized-2012167">finalized this summer</a>. Since the divorce, Perry has prospered in her professional life; she was involved in Barack Obama's <a href="http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/president-obama-katy-perry-draw-386241">re-election campaign</a> and even <a href="http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/10/25/katy-perry-ballot-dress_n_2015371.html">performed at several of his big rallies</a>.
